Bottle n. 0443 for a dry sparkling wine, Lambrusco Reggiano DOP Pra di Bosso Storico: "historic" because it dates back to the early 1900s, "boxwood" with reference to the boxwood plant that was locally used to trace the boundary between two vineyards. In a masterful interpretation of Lambrusco Salamino, Lambrusco Maestri and Malbo, which recently won the Gold Medal at Mundus Vini 2022, there is also confirmation of the great work of Casali Viticultori, a historic winery dating back to the beginning of the last century and today part of the important agricultural cooperative Emilia Wine.
In this bottle there is all the desire to enhance the territorial grapes, capable of taking on a thousand faces, multiple taste nuances, binding to nuances that are soft, vinous, fruity at a time. Violet, cherry, the memory of the smell of must, the freshness of the palate, the structure of the body. The sip develops energy, a sparkle enveloped in a graceful carbonic, emphasizing the deeply territorial character of a label that has never stopped believing in its potential, capable of telling itself and its vocation to its territory with a great stylistic precision.
Thanks to a generation of men and women, farmers of yesterday, artisans of today, the new point of view of Pra di Bosso Storico meets the applause of a modern consumer, more passionate than ever for Lambrusco and its infinite identities. Don't be afraid to taste it paired with numerous traditional dishes, such as a Neapolitan-style pizza with anchovies and capers or a good snack with fine bread and cold cuts.
Casali Viticultori: Reggio Emilia’s oldest winery. Casali Viticultori’s history began in the year 1900 when Giuseppe Casali decided to make his family wine into a full-blown business. Its first wine cellar, next to the historic Rocca del Boiardi castle in Scandiano, was soon too small and the winery’s growing market success and consequent increase in production meant moving to our current base in Pratissolo di Scandiano in the 1980s. Digging work on the new wine cellars unearthed a stone slab dating to 50 BC-50 AD with an inscription reading Ca Bezina, the name of an important patrician family. The first Champagne method wine to be made in Emilia Romagna was named after this inscription and subsequently modified to Ca’ Besina. ‘Good wine is born in the vineyard and grows up in the wine cellar’. This was Massimo Casali’s motto, the charismatic wine lover behind the history of this important local winery who left a determinant mark on his homeland’s winemaking. Casali Viticultori is still today a benchmark in Reggio wine making and was incorporated into the Emilia Wine Group in late 2014.
