Roberto Nicolli tell us about his experience with Tenuta i Greppi.
Fattoria Viticcio and Tenuta I Greppi: Beatrice Landini in Vancouver (BC) CanadaIt was a very nice afternoon spent together with Beatrice Landini (Fattoria Viticcio e Tenuta I Greppi), at the office of Stile Brands of Carmen D’Onofrio (an importer and marketer of premium wines, spirits and beers).
The meeting started talking about the Winery’s history, the Landini Family and territory, because starting with the history you can learn and promote the wine.
"The farmer opened the earth and the earth began to beat with the heart of man". It is the philosophy of Fattoria Viticcio, located in the heart of Chianti Classico region (Greve in Chianti). The Family Landini, in the early 1960s, became the owner of the winery. The founder Lucio, an engineer, was a man deeply attached to Tuscan tradition, the Chianti soil and its products.
The first grape harvest dates back to 1964 with the production of less than 20.000 bottles. Today, the current production is more than 250,000 bottles of wines sold in Europe, USA, Canada, Japan. The Landini Family, owners of the Viticcio winery, with their wine-making experience decided to join ventures with the Cancellieri-Scaramuzzi family, in the famous and magical Bolgheri territory, to make a dream come true: Tenuta I Greppi.
At Fattoria Viticcio and Tenuta I Greppi, you will find wine-makers whose respect for tradition and advanced technology meet and intertwine with harmony and professionalism while maintaining a watchful eye on the environment.
The meeting was concluded with a tasting of red Greppicante Bolgheri DOC 2008, blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Ruby red color, aromas of flowers, plum fruit, blackberry, blueberry and soft, elegant and complex.
