Bardolino Chiaretto is one of the most appreciated wines among the Italian rosé. It is a true representative of the freshness that the winter breezes and the summer heat, typical of Lake Garda, manage to give to the morainic soil that nourishes the vineyards and also transfers the typically sweet mineral note to make it so fascinating in every season.
Bardolino Chiaretto is produced exclusively with native vines: Corvina, which gives it color and body, Rondinella, which gives it a pleasant herbaceous note, and Molinara, which gives it softness and freshness. The rapid maceration on the skins gives it an extraordinary elegant and brilliant colour, a mixture of rose pink with onion skin reflections. The smell is pleasantly impressed by the note of fresh red berry fruit, excellent hints of strawberry and hawthorn, together with a bouquet of fresh flowers which then upon entering the mouth open to a pleasant and well balanced minerality, leaving a savory and acid note with a soft and persistent finish.
This is a wine suitable for every season for its pleasantness and transversality in the pairings, from an appetizer “bruschetta with Garda oil”, to a first course of baked fish. We tasted it with a Caprese with buffalo mozzarella and we can confirm the extraordinary cleanliness that it leaves on the palate, together with its aromas that bring back to the sweet hills of Custoza.
Custoza. The history of this name has distant origins, namely in the medieval Verona in which William Shakespeare set “Romeo and Juliet”. Today, those ancient lands, host our 1,000 hectares of vineyards, and their history inspired the founding shareholders to begin selecting the grapes to produce the first Custoza DOC, in 1968. It that year there were only 83 of us, and our beloved Custoza was born by an unstoppable enthusiasm, fed by the passion we have always felt for this land. In 1971 we produced our first Custoza vintage; for us it marked the beginning of a story that was destined to change our land. Today our winery can boast 200 winegrowers; we place 7 million bottles on the market each year, reaching no less than 19 countries in the world. By the selection in the vineyard, we produce our line “Val dei Molini” and “Custodia” “Terre in Fiore” is the ORGANIC selection of Cantina di Custoza, an ambitious project that was made possible by the professionalism of our technical staff.
