Castel Firmian was a noble residence set in the hills of the Rotaliana plain, north of Trento, from where the eye can hardly contain the beauty of the landscape enveloped by the Dolomites.
This is the birthplace of “Filorosso,” like the name of this wine, it unites beauty with the charm and substance of the work in this corner of Trentino, so full of life.
In this wine by “Castel Firmian,” a brand owned by the Mezzocorona winery, a second and no less fascinating Trentino territory is added to the Rotaliana plain—located a little further south, or rather, north of Lake Garda. Here, two international grape varieties, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, are cultivated and then blended with Teroldego to create this impactful and internationally styled wine.
Filorosso IGT Vigneti delle Dolomiti presents itself in the glass with a rich, luminous color. As it opens up, fragrant notes of ripe red fruit emerge with a broad elegance, which is the common denominator of the “Castel Firmian” lines.
An intriguing nose invites a sip that harmoniously completes itself on the palate. It is a round and well-structured wine, elegant also thanks to its passage in wood; a wine never over the top in power but in absolute and perfect balance with its olfactory profile.
