The origin and history of this grape is inherent in the Sardinian land, a territory that scholars say has emerged a million years before the Italian peninsula, and this is perhaps a key to understand many features of this land. Maybe, the emergence of this island, from the Mediterranean sea, has taken with it all that strength that characterizes a strong and decisive character also typical of those who live in this region, and at the same time has given birth to fables and legends that narrate of ancient people and passions that, all concentrated together, it’s a pleasure tu think of and enjoy in a glass of wine so well representative of Sardinia: the Cannonau.
This grape variety, produced all over the island, has become an integral part of it and its fables, and this is perhaps the reason for the name that Siddùra gave to his Cannonau, calling it Fòla (favola in Italian, fable in English).
A wine with an intense red color with such brilliant reflections that only jewels can give, that on the nose begins to communicate its strong yet pleasant, impetuous but gentle soul, giving aromas of berries under spirit and spices so ancient that they reflect the age of the soil where it comes from.
In the mouth it is a continuous stimulation of the palate, an interchange of truly unique sensations and pleasantness because they are the characteristics of a wine obtained from history.
Accompanied by game meats or medium-aged cheeses it tells its origin even better, and if we taste it with amaretti at the end of a meal it can remember the fairy tales that people once told about the domestic fire.
Company Profile
Siddùra was born from the discovery made by two entrepreneurs who identified and fell in love with an abandoned but enchanting property in the heart of Gallura, collecting the legacy of an ancient wine production that in the fifties of the last century already bottled vermentino to sell on the nearby market . The company has made Sardinia a brand of purity, tradition, quality and innovation. Thirty hectares of vineyards that give life to a collection of nine wines: the vermentino of Gallura Spèra, Maìa and Bèru, the rosé cannonau Nudo, the cannonau, DOC and Riserva, Èrema and Fòla, the Cagnulari Bàcco, the international Tìros and the passito Nuali. The wines received over 350 medals.
