Maia Garda DOC Blanc de Blancs is a sparkling example of how Cielo e Terra, a company founded in 1908 through its deep-rooted connection to the territory, has evolved to offer a line of wines with outstanding aesthetic and sensory appeal on today’s tables.

The entrepreneurial vision, driven by the unwavering tenacity typical of the Veneto region, along with effective management of international markets and substantial growth since 1908, has positioned the company as one of the leading families in the wine world. Today, Cielo e Terra is a partner of the Collis Group, working with 2,000 winegrowers and managing 6,000 hectares of vineyards across the provinces of Vicenza and Verona.

Among the company’s offerings, we had the pleasure of tasting one of the three wines in the Maia range: the Blanc de Blancs Garda DOC. This wine is a skillful blend of two grape varieties that epitomize territorial identity—Garganega and Chardonnay—meticulously crafted by the company’s enologists to create an exceptional sparkling wine made using the Charmat method.

This sparkling wine impresses with its finesse and precision. On the nose, it offers a generous bouquet of fresh flowers and ripe white fruit, subtle notes of pastry, and delicate spices that are never overpowering. On the palate, it is rich and well-balanced, with excellent salinity and perfectly tuned acidity.

Once again, Cielo e Terra delivers a production gem in response to a market that increasingly values quality and territorial identity. With its structure and vibrancy, this wine pairs wonderfully with dishes made from fresh, carefully chosen ingredients, reflecting the essence of modern Italian cuisine on a global stage. It pairs beautifully with seafood and shellfish, as well as vegetable risottos and stuffed pastas, forming an ideal match with this Garda DOC—a wine with a captivating history that gently whispers its origins.

Company Profile

“We create value in a more equitable and sustainable supply chain, with the utmost respect for People and the Planet” Cielo e Terra has two roots in the Veneto region, the Cielo family and the winemakers of Cantine dei Colli Berici.
The Cielo family’s bond with the land began in 1908 in the Vicenza countryside, near the Castles of Romeo and Juliet, where great-grandfather Giovanni had purchased a small farm with a vineyard. Grandfather Pietro continued to lead the company with great passion and social commitment. In the 1960s, the third generation, Giovanni, Renzo and Piergiorgio, created the new winery, a combination of tradition and innovative research, with strong expansion at a national level. Since 2023, with the merger of Cantine dei Colli Berici into Collis Veneto Wine Group, it has expanded its production base to more than 6,000 hectares and 2,000 winemakers between Vicenza and Verona. Today, Luca and Pierpaolo are at the helm of the company, supported by a long-standing partnership with local winemakers.
