The commitment and culture of Casa Defrà are encapsulated, regarding the white wines in this family-line dedicated to the Cielo brothers’ home, in this Superior white wine obtained for a good half from the flagship grape of these volcanic and basaltic soils, Garganega.

The result of a careful enological selection that starts from the integrated supply chain— a point of pride for the group with vineyards located between the provinces of Vicenza and Verona— it fully reflects the winemaking culture that for four generations has selected and vinified the best fruits of this vocated territory.

The Casa Defrà Superior White, in addition to Garganega, carries the aromatic drive of Sauvignon and the elegance of Chardonnay in a small portion, which importantly completes this blend.
Fresh on the nose with broad notes of white-fleshed fruit and tropical hints, its golden yellow color evokes the late spring flowers that surround the valleys of the Berici hills.

The fine spiciness is excellent and then found again on the palate, completing a round and harmonious taste with that typical mineral character on the finish, characteristic of the soils in this area.
As an aperitif, it is exalted by puff pastry bites with vegetables, and is excellent during a meal based on pasta with seafood or white meats such as roasted rabbit or stuffed quail.

A proud representative of the fair and sustainable supply chain pursued for many years in respect of the ecosystem, the Casa Defrà Superior White fully embodies the spirit of the proud winegrowers of this important winery.

Company Profile

“We create value in a more equitable and sustainable supply chain, with the utmost respect for People and the Planet”

Cielo e Terra has two roots in the Veneto region, the Cielo family and the winemakers of Cantine dei Colli Berici. The Cielo family’s bond with the land began in 1908 in the Vicenza countryside, near the Castles of Romeo and Juliet, where great-grandfather Giovanni had purchased a small farm with a vineyard. Grandfather Pietro continued to lead the company with great passion and social commitment. In the 1960s, the third generation, Giovanni, Renzo and Piergiorgio, created the new winery, a combination of tradition and innovative research, with strong expansion at a national level. Since 2023, with the merger of Cantine dei Colli Berici into Collis Veneto Wine Group, it has expanded its production base to more than 6,000 hectares and 2,000 winemakers between Vicenza and Verona. Today, Luca and Pierpaolo are at the helm of the company, supported by a long-standing partnership with local winemakers.
