Laus Vitae is powerful, with pear scents standing out from the rest and blending well with flowery undertones of broom, acacia, and balsamic tones. There are also notes of rich yellow fruit. The taste is unique, savory, and flowery with a long-lasting final olfactory impression.
The grapes for this wine are hand-picked and harvested, and after soft pressing, the must ferments at a regulated temperature in steel and barriques. The wine is aged on the lees for at least 6 months. The colour is intense straw-yellow.
We suggest serving this wine with grilled tuna steak on a bed of red onion, timbale of white anchovies au gratin, snapper in crust, roast sea bass with potatoes, and silky saffron sauce of chickpeas and shrimp from the Adriatic Sea. Gorgonzola and soft cheeses with acacia honey are a perfect match.
Citra is Abruzzo’s largest winegrowing community with some three thousand families, sharing (Values, Visages, Wines) a deeply ingrained code of values: respect for nature, intergenerational bonds, transmission of know-how from parent to child, and a time-honored ethic of production. Citra, founded in 1973, embraces nine wineries in the province of Chieti. The success of Codice Citra is the result of the marriage between technology, control, and the competencies of the pioneering producer in Abruzzo with a commitment to quality, regional distinction, and the stewardship of the particular traditions of its 3,000 member family winegrowers.
