This marks an important CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) achievement for Mondodelvino and the Group’s stakeholders. The international certification standard, SA 8000:2014 covers all the companies that fall under the Group. Barone Montalto was the first to obtain certification in 2017.
The international CSR standard confirms the highest level of compliance comprising of these following elements: Child Labor; Forced or Compulsory labor; Health and Safety; Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining; Discrimination; Disciplinary Practices; Working Hours; Remuneration; Management System.
This certification holds great significance, as Mediobanca confirmed for the third consecutive year, the Group’s position among the top 20 wine companies of Italy based on sales performance. 2017 was closed with a +5,6% growth in comparison to 2016 with sales exceeding 100 million euro. In regards to production for 2017, Mondodelvino produced and sold 42 million liters of wine, equivalent to around 56 million 0,75 L bottles.
The combined achievements are thanks to a diverse range of wines and distribution in over 56 countries worldwide.
The Group’s growing markets show promise with the following trends: Ukraine (+ 266%), Russia (+ 146%), Kazakhstan (+ 130%) and China (+ 97%). This is not to exclude positive trends for already consolidated markets such as: Luxembourg (+ 91%); Estonia (+ 61%); USA (+ 33%); Canada (+ 19%); and Denmark (+ 19%).
