You can not define Col Vetoraz in few words: it is a melting pot of wide and enveloping emotions, quality without compromises.
Benefiting from a territory so unique for its conformity and geological composition is only a starting point for the founders of this winery. They are sparkling wine entrepreneurs, who are able to tell their feelings of care and attention to the vineyards in order to get to the tables of their loyal consumers with high quality wines, identified by the Col Vetoraz brand.
The sparkling Brut, that we tasted, is a striking example of finesse and balance. In its tasting glass its fine perlage lets imagine an elegant drinkability, bringing out rich and wide aromas of wild flowers and white-fleshed fruit with slight hints of citrus and tropical.
In the mouth it is full and enveloping, it recalls all the gustatory perceptors and then realizes them in a harmony without smudges, with such a soft finish, enhanced by the excellent length and aftertaste.
The combinations that we tried with this Spumante Brut were a lot. From appetizers such as omelettes with vegetables to fried lagoon fish enhanced by the cleanliness on the palate that this Spumante offered us. Col Vetoraz sparkling wines offer a traversal experience and they are aimed at the pleasantness of the company at the table.
Col Vetoraz is located in the heart of the Valdobbiadene DOCG area, at almost 400 mt above sea level, on a hill that is part of the well-know Cartizze hills. It is right here that the Miotto family settled in 1838, developing the vine cultivation from the beginning. In 1993 Francesco Miotto, descendant of this family, together with the agronomist Paolo De Bortoli and the oenologist Loris Dall’Acqua founded the current Col Vetoraz, a small winery that was able to innovate and grow reaching in just 25 years the top of Valdobbiadene DOCG production both in quantitative and qualitative terms, with over 2,300,000 kg of DOCG grapes vinified per year from which is selected the production of 1,250,000 bottles. A great respect for tradition, deep love for the territory, extreme care of the vineyards and a scrupulous methodology of the production chain as well as the production of large cuvées, have allowed Col Vetoraz over the years to obtain excellent wines and flattering results at the most prestigious national and international wine competitions.
