Alta Langa DOCG is indeed increasingly appreciated for the strong identity expressed in its sparkling wines, which have a proud and aristocratic yet equally contemporary character, as is the case with this Brut (2019 vintage) presented by Dacastello.
One of the characteristics of this vintage classic method wine (all products under the DOCG regulations must be vintage dated) is a colour tending toward golden, due to the presence of Pinot Noir in this precious blend. It is precisely the Pinot Noir that lends elegant energy and crispness, complementing the Chardonnay, which provides structure and complexity.
An exceptionally fine perlage immediately brings out the breadth of fruit, green apple and the delicacy of homemade bread, while the minerality is an olfactory aspect that is then well harmonised on the palate, where the correct savouriness and fine acidity fully satisfy in terms of balance and modernity.
This Alta Langa Brut, disgorged in 2025, can comfortably rest further in the cellar to strengthen its structure even more, but it is already a sparkling wine that can express itself throughout a meal, as a partner to fresh appetisers with vegetables and marinated fish, through to shining alongside radicchio and sausage lasagne or excellent Mediterranean-style sea fish.
