The Cielo family has for decades represented a clearly recognisable style in international markets and is a source of pride for the enterprising winemaking culture of north-east Italy and beyond.

The ongoing work in research, development and territorial promotion, tied to the history to which this family is deeply rooted through a well-established tradition, has found full expression in the wine tasted today, dedicated to the founder of this entrepreneurial journey, Giovanni Cielo.

Hence the name “Bianco di Giò”: a Premium wine for this Vicenza-based winery that also embodies the modern and forward-looking spirit that the Cielo family proudly conveys to the many customers who have long appreciated their consistently attentive contemporary approach.

The Bianco di Giò 2025 is an intriguing and sunny white wine. Its refined packaging conveys the importance of this product, which on the nose is immediate and enveloping, with the delicate notes of Sauvignon Blanc accompanying the sumptuousness of Chardonnay.

On the nose, the citrus and floral breadth is reinforced by exotic fruit aromas, lending a well-defined and harmonious expressiveness that delights the senses and invites one to drink. On the palate it is enveloping and harmonious, speaking volumes about the agronomic and winemaking skill of the Cielo family, delivering a wine with a long, mineral and persistent finish.

The Venetian tradition offers a wealth of pairings for this Bianco di Giò, from the classic Venetian cicchetti to pasta with radicchio and farmyard ragù, though we particularly enjoyed it alongside several Asian dishes, where it masterfully enhances the spiced elements.

Company profile

“We create a fairer and more sustainable value chain, with a strong commitment to People and Planet” Cielo e Terra has dual roots in the Veneto region: the Cielo family and the winemakers of the Cantine dei Colli Berici. The Cielo family’s bond with the land began in 1908 in the Vicenza countryside near the Castelli di Romeo e Giulietta (Castles of Romeo and Juliet), where great-grandfather Giovanni had bought a small farm with a vineyard. Grandfather Pietro continued to run the company with impassioned enthusiasm and social commitment. In the 1960s, the third generation, Giovanni, Renzo and Piergiorgio, built the new winery, a combination of tradition and innovative research with marked expansion at a national level. Cielo e Terra, with the merger of Cantine dei Colli Berici into the Collis Veneto Wine Group, expands its production base to more than 6000 hectares and 2000 winemakers between Vicenza and Verona. Today, Luca and Pierpaolo are at the helm of the company, supported by the longstanding partnership with the local vinegrowers.
