From Veneto to Puglia via Tuscany: the Italian Experience of Tinazzi, the major Lazise-based cellar group, has now been rounded off with one of the world’s best-loved Italian winegrowing areas: Chianti Classico DOCG.

The group has acquired Pian Del Gallo in Greve in Chianti, in the province of Florence, through the agricultural company Campopian S.a.n.c. (Florence), a subsidiary of Tinazzi s.r.l. managed by Francesca Tinazzi, which owns and farms vineyards in Veneto. The group already boasts three other properties: Poderi Campopian in Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella (Verona), Cascina Montelupo in Custoza (Verona) and Tenuta Valleselle in Bardolino (Verona).

“This is a dream come true. My family and I have fallen in love with Pian del Gallo,” says Francesca Tinazzi, “and we intend to look after it with the care and respect that have always characterised our work in the vineyard.

Situated in the Chianti hills, in the province of Florence, Pian del Gallo is a small organic farm of 5.5 hectares with a vineyard producing Chianti Classico DOCG and Toscana IGT. It offers hospitality at its agriturismo and it also produces an excellent PDO extra virgin olive oil. Its produce has been certified organic by the Ethical and Environmental Certification Institute (ICEA) for the last 20 years and more.

As Gian Andrea Tinazzi, CEO of Tinazzi s.r.l. says, “It’s a huge satisfaction for our group to be able to count upon an estate in Tuscany, the cradle of wine, and in one of its most famous denominations, Chianti Classico DOCG. This property is sure to become one of the feathers in our cap.”
