The history that accompanies the brand, along with the consistently innovative and concrete approach that has marked Tommasi Viticoltori’s growth, is the result of many years of research, synergy with markets, and a profound love for the land, which is fully expressed in the wines it offers to consumers worldwide.

The wine we tasted today, Valpolicella Classico Superiore “Ripasso,” marks 30 years of evolution and prestige. The winery celebrates this milestone with great satisfaction and joy for the outstanding results and accolades garnered over the years.

This Ripasso is, in fact, a wine with great recognizability and identity. Made from three native grape varieties—Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella—it spends 18 months in large wooden barrels before refining in the bottle, always embodying a harmony and distinct personality.

With its deep, dark red color and bright highlights, it is best served in large glasses to enhance its contact with oxygen, allowing it to open up to a curious nose, revealing a harmonious array of oriental spices, wild berry jam, wood, and sweet licorice.

On the palate, it can be described as a wine that neither tires nor weighs down, thanks to its excellent acidity, balanced body, and minerality. Its delightful juiciness leaves a long-lasting and unforgettable aftertaste.

From boiled or roasted meats to tagliatelle with duck ragù, and even game dishes, Tommasi’s Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso is always a great companion at the table.

Company Profile

The story of Tommasi began in 1902 with the spark of pioneering spirit from Giacomo Tommasi, an experienced and visionary farmer who inspired four generations. From the very first parcels of land purchased in Valpolicella Classica, his vision has permeated every aspect of the company’s growth, maintaining a deep connection with the land, the people, and the markets. In 1995, Tommasi launched the Valpolicella “Ripasso,” now ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary. A wine that has become a “Classic” for its timeless characteristics, capable of enduring through time and remaining a reference in the wine world, satisfying the taste of modern consumers.
