Fattoria Pagano was born from the will and courage of Angelo Pagano, who took over the entrepreneurial project started by his father Antonio. Confident in Angelo’s competence and dedication, Antonio quickly handed him the reins, remaining by his side during the most crucial moments in the company’s life, such as the grape harvest.
The historic estate of Fattoria Pagano is located in Carinola, in the province of Caserta, which is also home to the company’s headquarters. Angelo also manages a property in Irpinia, further enriching the array of Campanian excellences that make up the company’s portfolio.
In Carinola, a combination of several elements, along with human care, creates an exceptional terroir: volcanic soils, due to the proximity of the ancient Roccamonfina volcano, an ensemble of winds, and temperature fluctuations from the nearby Monte Massico and the Gulf of Gaeta.
The terraced vineyards in Carinola are like balconies overlooking the sea, where vineyards and orchards naturally coexist in synergy.
Fattoria Pagano offers two product lines: the “Poets” line and the “Musical Instruments” line. The wines in the first line express the choice to highlight, starting from the label, the history of the “Ager Falernus” blessed by nature with ideal winemaking conditions. The labels of this line contain quotes from illustrious figures of antiquity, such as the one from Marziale, featured on the label of Angelus, a Falerno del Massico Dop Rosso Riserva, dating back to 55-56 AD. Along with Angelus, a blend of Aglianico and Piedirosso, the “Poets” line also includes other Falerno del Massico labels. Among the reds, there is Gaurasi, which shares the same grape blend as Angelus but represents a lighter version with great gustatory impact and adherence to the territory. Other wines include Seduzione and Voluptas, two labels of Primitivo DOP. Among the whites, there are Pectus and Fabula, both 100% Falanghina.
The “Musical Instruments” line is dedicated to the playful, fun-loving, and epicurean spirit of the Campanian people and the joy of sharing moments of great pleasure. Music has always been present in the region’s tradition, and the labels of this Pagano line aim to echo the “Posteggia,” the ancient and cheerful way in which street musicians entertained people in the streets, meeting places, and dining areas. This line includes Taurasi DOCG, Greco di Tufo DOCG, Fiano di Avellino DOCG, Aglianico IGT, Piedirosso Roccamonfina IGT, Falanghina IGT, and Rosé Roccamonfina IGT. The musical instruments on the labels were hand-drawn by a local artist.
